On 22 January, as the Chinese New Year holiday neared, Check-in Asia’s Gary Bowerman was invited by Singapore-based CNA (Channel News Asia) to discuss the rapidly spreading coronavirus outbreak live on air.
In a broad-ranging interview, Gary was asked questions about the potential impact for the tourism sector in China, across Asia and worldwide over the Chinese New Year. He also discussed how the travel sector may respond, both during and after the Golden Week holiday period.
This was Gary’s second appearance on CNA in recent months. In October 2019, he was invited onto the CNA evening news show to discuss the permanent ban on tourists climbing Uluru in Australia, and other issues relating to sustainable Asia Pacific.
